You can also update drivers manually by using either the control panel or the CD. Any drivers are installed by using a driver disk. Once the utility begins to install the update, it may require you to restart the computer. If the utility says that it can't update one of the drivers, a driver is missing from your computer, you can download the file again.

Right-click the appropriate driver, and then click Properties. If you are using a 64-bit version of Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, the Windows Update section may be on a new menu. Note that Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 installed 32-bit versions of the Intel Chipset Drivers, and so you don't need to worry about drivers for Intel chipsets. Press Enter to update the driver. Press the Back button to return to the previous screen. If you have a 64-bit version of Windows XP and you want to install a 64-bit version of the Chipset Drivers, follow the instructions in the next section.

32-bit vs. 64-bit Intel Chipset Drivers
This section describes how to install drivers for an Intel chipset, the Intel Advanced Power Management version 9.4, if you have a 64-bit version of Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008.
Open the window that says "Installing Update" by clicking the Start button and clicking Control Panel.
Click the Programs tab.
Double-click the Update and Security icon, and then click View installed updates.
Right-click the driver that's listed there, and then click Update Driver.
Click Next to the window that says "Warning! This driver was updated by Microsoft."
Click the Select driver button.
Click the "Automatically search for updates" button.
Click the Close button.
Click Next.
Click the "I accept the terms of this agreement" button.
Click the Install button.
Click the "Reboot now" button.
NOTE: Intel is now shipping 64-bit versions of Chipset Drivers that support 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. These drivers have been tested with the following:
